Health and Community Development
DKSHA is also involved in Health and Community Development activities. Our Health Educators visit the families under our target area and conduct health classes to women and arrange for medical camps in the villages to diagnose diseases and to treat the diseases. Unemployed women are helped to find jobs to earn additional income to the family and to sustain their lives through Skill Training Programs and to start self employment activities.
84 villages are benefiting in this program. We give importance for the Eye Care of the Needy children, youth and poor men and women in rural, remote village communities. DKSHA in good collaboration with one Madurai Aravind Eye Care Hospital, from 2008 to till this year tested 4297 beneficiaries and Selected 1889 Cataract Patients for IOL fixing Free Surgery and who received IOL fixing Cataract Surgery are 1602 persons and Those who received eye glasses are 506.
